I had gone through an emotional ringer. After publishing Baby Blues, I went through a depression which was unusual I don't normally react that way after any of my books are published. One of three people gave me a nice five stars reviews, I had a low turn out of my release party and so many other negatives had happened that I hadn't realized I was under a spiritual attack. I had to fight back. I was still in a battle . So trying to be remain positive on the way to the library, I put a smile on my face, thinking the book signing will happen. Nope.
As soon as I asked to talk to the head librarian by name, I am informed she retired three years ago and they have a new one there. No longer do they have book signings but they have an authors programs which to me is a slap in the face because A) every author gets 30 minutes to talk 30 minutes about their or whatever they want B) and it's in the Meeting Room) Have you been in a meeting room? Normally that means it is behind closed doors. In other words, "We will accommodate our authors but we will secretly." It is a month long program and they have been doing it for a few years. It is not a book signing although if the author wants, she or he can sign books, but to me, I think the room is too small for it. The only reason I signed up is because The Lord said to do so. If I am still in Hanford and still no opportunity, I may have to take the train or bus to Fresno the next I have a book out. 30 minutes is not long eough and a meeting room is too out of the way
