Is Baby Blues a Romance?

2/26/2021

In Baby Blues, my characters are husband and wife. They reunited in The Past Hunter where my story is written as a romance. But could Baby Blues qualify as a romance? Many readers expects the unrequited type of love: the boy gets girl loses girl, et cetera type story where they finally admit they have feelings for each other but have to get over whatever kept them apart. Eric already won Julie. (Read The Past Hunter.  They love each other, and you will see it laced through out the story.

Julie stepped out of her Jeep and rushed into his arms. He held her, not letting her go, and she giggled at his kisses. She pulled away just a little, her blue eyes full of love. “How was your day?”
His heart hammered. Five hours apart was too long for him. He wanted to keep her in his arms and not let go. “Good. We’re behind in work, but we’ll get caught up.”
“What would you like for dinner? I have hamburger steak or sloppy Joes.”
“Hamburger steaks sound good.” He brushed her hair back, taking in her scent of vanilla. “I may be in the mood tonight.” He waggled his eyebrows.
She giggled. “I’ll look forward to that.” She freed herself, and he followed her in. “I had two things happen today.”
Baby Blues is full of suspense. It is a story about a married woman who long for a baby of her own but at the same time, an escaped convicted rapist is out to destroy her husband. A bad time for wanting to become fertile, but God is provident in her ordeal and you could see how He not only helped her but her husband.

Feeding on His Faithfulness

2/23/2021

"Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell on the land and feed on his faithfulness."-Psalms 37:3
idIf there is ever a time we need this reminder, it is now! Ever since China help Biden steal the election, more immorality has increased, including bloodshed. Over 64 million babies did not have a chance to live. I can imagine all of heaven is crying over this atrocity as well as Christians and right living people, but it didn't end there. Biden also signed into law or hope it will pass both the house and senate, an equality act. It may sound good to you, but if you read what is in it, you may change your mind. If the senate passes it, women will loose their rights, all restrooms will become unisex, giving perverts the right to go and harass a helpless little girl. DO YOU WANT THAT HAPPEN TO YOUR DAUGHTER? And pastors can not reject any lesbians or homosexuals to serve in the church. These are a few examples of this so called equality act. It is giving immoral people a chance to be equal with moral people. Many years ago, Obama did the same thing with gay marriages. and if you think that God will condone this, you need to read the Bible again.
The good news is that God hasn't stepped down. he has not given the nation to a thief who would change the laws of America making what is right, wrong and wrong right. God has  not changed his mind about how any national leader to reign. God is our Judge, and He is much aware of what is going on.  God may seem absent, but has he ever been absent? When Adonijah appointed himself king did God tell David, I guess you will wait until he dies to become a king again? Did he tell David, he couldn't give him back the kingdom? I don't think so. Remember God appointed him while Saul was still King. He was a man after God's own heart. President Trump is the same way. He cared about God's people. I'm not talking about us Christians. I'm talking about the Jews. He moved the embassy to Jerusalem. He invoked a blessing on Israel and the prime minister even likened him to Cyrus. Trump also cared about the true Americans. He had 74 million votes but China stole it for Biden. Watch Absolute Proof. Michael Lindell had death threats on his life because he was about to expose them and now Dominion wants to sue him. Proof that what he shared is truth. Even if all Americans didn't see it or believe it, God has. He sees and knows all.  Psalms 50:16-21 says it all. Because the wicked think they are secured and they can't be remove, God will remove them. You see God hasn't forgotten us because we the people didn't vote for Biden. Don't give up on God and don't despair when you hear of more wickedness. God will expose them. Feed on God's word and not on fake news. The MSM is the false prophets of our times just as prophets of Baal were the fake news of Ahab's time. 2Chronicles 20:20 says we are to believe the Lord and he will establish us; believe in the prophets and he will prosper us. Who are the prophets? People like Kim Clement, Hank Kunneman, Kat Karr, Manual Johnson, Johnny Enlow and Robin Bullock.  If you question the accuracy of the prophecy, Hank prophesied it would snow in Washington as a sign of God's cleansing. He prophesied this after the "inauguration." All of Kat's prophecies has come to pass.
One more reminder of God's faithfulness: His arm is not too short to save.

Fear or Submission?

2/22/2021

There are two type of people who wear face masks: Those who submit to their governing authorities and those who wear them out of fear. When I go to a grocery store, I can tell who wear them out of submission. They are the ones who as soon as they leave the premises, remove their masks. They are the ones who don't wear them in their car. People don't like being told what they should wear and those in authority like to lord it over us. It relives me to see people because I am just like that. I can identify with them. To me, mask wearing is social control. Think of it this way: Picture a hand over the mouth. Could you speak if your mouth was cover? How about when a kidnapper covers your mouth? The purpose of that is that you don't scream.
I'm not saying that the virus isn't real. I know people have gotten sick or died over it, but it is how you react to the virus. The reason I don't fear the virus is because Jesus's blood protects me and I am in his protection. I have friends who are the same way. They don't fear the virus. The ones who do will make sure you stay 6 feet apart, wear the mask at all times, except when eating or sleeping. (I even seen them wear them in their cars or when they are outside..
Do you fall in any of these categories? Do you wear mask to submit to the authorities or are you afraid, you might get the virus if you don't?

Finding Contentment in Marriage

2/21/2021

"Arriving at Old Fox Ranch, Julie calmed herself, as she didn’t want to worry Eric. She parked her Jeep behind his black truck and stepped out. Off in the distance, Eric stood by a fence, pounding a nail. His two men worked on either of Eric. She ambled to her husband.
“Evening, Julie.” John straightened his brown Stetson as a smile danced on his lips. A lock of black hair peeked from under his hat.
“Hi, John.”
Eric straightened and studied her. Concern flitted across his eyes. “Are you okay? You look upset.” He held her, but she pulled away. She couldn’t look at him. “What’s wrong?” He turned her to look at him. “Please tell me, honey. Did something happen at work?” He brushed back a strand of hair from her face.
“Me,” she moaned as she toddled to the house. She didn’t deserve his love. Instead of finding contentment in their marriage, she resented it. But she wasn’t angry with him. Eric had been nothing but good to her."
Picture
Have you felt that way? You love your husband, but you don't feel fulfilled? Paul wrote in the letter to the the Corinthians that it is better not to marry. That may be a hard pill to swallow, especially for me. I have been single all my life, and yet later Paul even admitted some of this gift and some have that gift. He is not saying that we should all be single or seek divorce. God is not the author of divorce and neither did God want man to live alone. If he did, God would not inspired Moses to write that God created a help mate for Adam. God created man for woman and man for woman.(1Cor 11:11 Loosely translated)
God created woman to help man in his work on earth. In the  NLT, it states, "But among the Lord's people, women are not independent of men, and men are not independent of women."  Earlier in the same later Paul said that marriage will not solve all problems, which was why Paul said it was better not to marry. He was giving his concession not a command from the Lord.
How do you find contentment in marriage? First, you find it in Jesus Christ. Paul wrote elsewhere that true godliness with contentment is great gain. God is being like God in his nature. In the same letter Paul told the readers what God is like or not like. Because God is love, you just replace love with God. "God is kind, God is not rude..." etc.
We can never find true contentment in the world. So what is contentment? Contentment is accepting where you are and knowing that God is taking care of your needs. Paul said that we should continue to live wherever the Lord placed us and remain where you are when you he called you.  If you are not happy in your marriage, it is time to find contentment in God, and not in your husband or wife. One another note and that is Christ should be center of your marriage, if he is, then your marriage will withstand anything as Julie's marriage did in my book.

A Good Day Until...

2/19/2021

Waking up, Miss Madison anticipated a good day, She would get a call from the sub caller asking her to sub in any glass under third grade. She would even check the app to see fi there was any assignment. Her heart beat in time. As she enjoyed her time with her sister, she checked the app. A job assignment for a third grade class. Her day would be good.
After she packed a lunch and put on her winter cold as the morning temps dipped to a mid thirties. She would walk to the bus station and make it time. She lived in a time when wearing the governing authorities mandated people would wear a mask, but she wore a face shield. She still would have a good day.
She met the class that morning. They looked like they would be good and not give her too many problems. Third grade math she could handle and as long as the teacher had put together the plans, she would teach with confidence. The learning director was her favorite. She had known her from another school and all the other third grade teachers were such a big help. She would definitely have a good day.
Miss Madison prayed for favor. Her feet would hurt if she had to help out the P.E teacher or do ten minutes of yard duty, but the favor wasn't there. On the lesson plan, the teacher wrote she would have to assist the P.E teacher and then later ten minutes of yard duty yet she would still have a good day.
But it ended the minute she got on the bus. The bus driver in the morning, never questioned her wearing a  face shield, and neither did a driver of a smaller bus ask her, but as soon she got on the last bus, the driver asked, "Do you have a mask?" Since when did bus drivers say she couldn't wear a shield? It just made her day worst. Feeling a little grouchy, she complied. She couldn't wait to get off the bus. She already had issues with the bus fare machine, telling her every time her valid card was invalid, but he added to it.
Miss Madison decided, she needed to listen to her mp3 player so she walked to a bench outside the transfer station and took it out and turn it on. It was on her way home, she realized she had forgotten her shield. She would have love to leave it behind but until people stop mandating mask, she needed it.  When she went back to get it, a four-engine train just happened to speed down the tracks. Just great. One more thing to make her day worst,
Miss Madison will always have bad and good days, but she is grateful for one thing: Jesus loves her no matter how  she responds to her day. This is the day that the Lord has made and she will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is based on the events of Miss Madison written as a story

I am dedicating this blog to reviews. Two have blessed me with their reviews, but American readers will not see it for both are from Canada. In days I will be leaving reviews for books I have read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Amazing!!
Reviewed in Canada on December 20, 2020This author did not disappoint. This novel reached out and grabbed me from the very first page and did not let go until the very last.
"
4.0 out of 5 stars Wow!!
"Reviewed in Canada on December 26, 2020I've known the author for some time now, but I wasn't expecting this. Such a heartfelt story must have taken so much research to write. And you can tell it comes from the heart. It deals with a sensitive topic - infertility - as well as the relationship between husband and wife. And so much more. WORTH THE READ!!"

My Second Chance Series and Me

2/18/2021

Before death happened in the family, I had wanted to move to Washington state and become a high quality Christian school teacher. I thought God had planted a seed in my heart to move and live there and marry a CEO of that school. I fashioned myself after my name sake. After all, I would be a foreigner in Washington, but the desire faded as anew desire took root in my heart. It began as I read books about cowboys and ranchers. Two books I remembered reading help plant that new desire:  The Cowboy's Touch by Denise Hunter and a Cowboy for Christmas by Kristen James. But where to live? I lived in California for most of my life and I have contempt for California, and not because of politics but because I'm tired of living here. I want a place of my own. My mother didn't live in Iowa all her life and my father didn't live in Washington State all his life--they met and married in New York.  After my mom birth gave to my sister, my father moved us to California--where his mother had  grown up.
I have done my research and discovered that there are ranches in Montana. (Denise set her book in Montana and she is from Colorado.) I thought why not? A state I have never been too. Abraham had never been to Canaan yet he moved there (though Abraham didn't know where, God showed him).  And from there, I have set the Past Hunter in Bozeman, Montana

"As Eric shared his secret, Julie’s throat ached. Was there something she could do to relieve his suffering? Pray for him? She had and would. Julie had a good upraising. Although her parents had sheltered her, they showed her the love of Christ. Eric had none of that. He had his share of darkness and misery. He and his little brother suffered under the hands of their drunk and abusive father. It had drained her of all that was in her heart. And what about Drew? His mother became pregnant? She needed to share with him, to help him see where she was coming from."
Julie was a woman after my own heart. Like Julie, I grew up being sheltered by my parents, but her life experiences (except for the rape which I will write about another time),is something I want mirrored in my own life. Julie's first real boyfriend is a rancher from Montana. And as Julie grew up Baptist so did I  yet later our religious experience changed from Baptist to Charismatic or Pentecostal.
Sometime later in my life God confirmed through a vision that I would marry a rancher and that desire hadn't left.
I have never thought about writing a series, but authors were doing it. I needed to write a continuation of book one and it named it Baby Blues. Yet I wrote it like a sequel and not a series. However, they get a second chance in the story (more about it in the next blog) so its  series in regards to the same couple. I made up for the series with book 3 involving Julie's friends Beth.
There may or may not be a book 4. I'm still waiting for sales on my series to pick up before I write a Christmas story and for reviews to come in. Time will tell.

Snow in Texas

I live in the west. Not the northwest or southwest, but the west. Very rarely does it snow in California. Many people think of sun sun sun even in the winter time, and believe it or not, that is mostly accurate for this year. I say mostly because in 2021, our weather has been very cold in the morning and warm with lots of wind in the afternoon. I woke up freezing this morning and it was only 36 degrees. I'm imagining most of you are saying that's not as cold as below freezing. That's true. I'm grateful that it isn't because the house I inherited doesn't have  central air conditioning and heating. We use heaters and have a floor furnace when its cold, but it doesn't warm the house.
My prayers are for those who experiencing greater levels of snow and power outages. Have you ever wondered why this is happening? Especially in the south? On the weather map it shows an artic blast coming from the north and  spreading to the south. 28 states got it with it and I will tell you why: God is ready to cleanse our land of evil and wickedness. Think about it. Corrupted politicians like those in deep state lives in that area. God had heard the prayers of his people and had enough of the corruption going on in DC, including China helping the democrats get Trumps votes. You don't believe me? Watch the video called Absolute Proof at Michael J Lindell website and search for Hank Kunneman's Snow Prophecy on Youtube. Just because Biden got in, or the senate voted for certification of Biden doesn't mean God gave up on us. Why would he give up on 74 million supporters of Trump? Did you know the democrats wanted to paint us supporters as criminals? If they could convict Trump, they can convict us.
If you are a democrat and you find this offensive, I am just offering proof. There could be no other explanation to why Texas and other states are  getting so much snow. And what about that strong wind in Wyoming?

Valentine's Day

As an author of romance, you will almost always see romance in my books. In fact, in all my books there is an element of romance. Where would we be if we didn't have the greatest sacrifice in the history of mankind? John the apostle wrote, that "God so love the world that He gave his only son that whomever shall believe in him, will have everlasting life (John 3:16 loosely translated). If you never heard of that, you might ask what Sacrifice is that? What God gave up? The answer to that is Jesus. The birth of Jesus came through both man and God. God sent his spirit into a virgin named Mary thus making Jesus the Son of God and the Son and man. Not only that, he lived  a pure and sinless life so that he could become the ultimate sacrifice.
In the days of the law, worshippers had to offer a pure and spotless lamb as a sacrifice to cleanse them from the sins. It was the blood of the lamb that did that and the priests initiated it. (The book of Hebrew talks more about this)  After Jesus's death, after he offered up his life in exchange for ours. Paul wrote that Jesus became sin so that we might be made the righteousness of God. Jesus didn't sin, but he took our sins for us on that cross. He took our place on the cross. This is God's love for us, but it didn't end there. Three days later he rose from the dead and later for only male or female who believes in who he is and confesses that he is Lord becomes a new person and accepts God's love and Son in our hearts.
Nowadays, people express love without God in their lives. God's love is sacrificial. It is also called Agape or unconditional love. I grew up with both: My mother showed me God's love while my father's love was conditional: "I love you if..."  God never loves like that. Paul wrote that nothing can separate us from the love of God.(Roman 8:38 and 39). While God will love us no matter what we will do or say, man will love based on condition. A husband  who is controlling could say. "If you love me, honey, you will do as I say and without question." Oh they will say it in different ways, but it is the same thing.
Christian romance author writes that kind of romance in their books. They show God's love through characters who have flaws just as we do. They go through a journey of they will to discover they worth the love of another person. In book 3 of my Second Chance Series, A Man For Beth, both the hero and heroine had bad experience with the opposite sex:

She noticed him. Stan turned his attention back to the weights. He couldn’t allow another woman to break his heart.
“I think she likes you, Stan,” his friend Larry said.
“Me? We haven’t even met.” He picked up a 100-pound weight and lifted. “She probably thinks men are jerks.” And he didn’t blame her.  Although since becoming a Christian, he still needed an attitude adjustment. Did she know the Lord?
“No time like the present.  Go and introduce yourself.” Larry lifted 100-pound weights.
“I don’t want to scare her.” He had lost weight since his journey began six months ago. They could start out as friends, but he didn’t want her to think he was coming onto her. She may have had bad experiences with men.
He had one with a woman. Laura was a beautiful woman, but her heart was not.  She was ashamed to be in public with him. For the first two months, she seemed to accept him as he was—overweight. He thought she had a heart of gold until he overheard her talking to a friend on the phone.
“Stan won’t lose the weight. He told me that is who he was, and he acted real macho…Dump him...” she had paused. Did she suspect he was near? He quickly hid when she glanced around the room.
He fell on his knees and cried but straightened up. Real men don’t cry, his father had told him. They pray.
Stan’s father was a God-fearing man. He respected him, but after his father died, he lost hope in God. He walked away from God and the Catholic Church.
The woman dropped the weights she had used and wiped the sweat off her brow.
She had a hard life too.
Stan didn’t doubt she had a hard life. She reminded him of himself six months ago.
You could help her.
We can be friends.

Two
As Beth and her mother finished working out, she took a deep breath. “That was hard.” She followed her mother to the changing room.
“But you did it! You made it through your first day! I’m proud of you.”
“I guess you want me to keep it up.”
“We both can.”
Beth stared past her mother. The two men were walking toward the lockers. Her heart raced. Oh God, please don’t let them talk to me! She wiped her sweaty palms on her leg and kept her eye on her locker.
He was there. Was his locker near hers? No! Through the smell of sweat, she detected a hint of Old Spice cologne. Did he come here to attract women? She eyed him. He looked amazing!
“Hi.” He cleared his throat. “Stan. And you are?” He closed his locker door.
Was he talking to me? She wanted to run, but her feet froze. She tried to speak, but nothing came out. Over her shoulders, her mother smiled.
“Go ahead and say hi,” she whispered, coaxing her on.
“Nn…nice to meet you. Beth.”
“Beth? I love your name.”
Her heart fluttered, and she glanced away.
“Would it be okay if we can be friends?”
Friends? Yes. That would be good. She offered a small smile. “Sure.” Her heart wouldn’t slow down. He offered friendship, not a relationship. Get a grip, girl!
Everyone has flaws. Sometimes we have to love ourselves before we could love others. I my myself is not perfect, but I know that God loves me unconditionally. His love is shed abroad in my heart (Romans 5). When I am guided by his love, I have no fear because his perfected by his love.

The Secret Place.

"You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence."--Psalms31:20 NKJV
Picture

"What exactly is the secret place?  Matthew wrote that when we pray, we should not pray so that men could hear us for we would receive our reward from men, but that we should pray in a room, with a closed door (Matthew 6:5 NKJV loosely translated). In other words, in a place with just you and God. It could be either your closet, or your bedroom. It can even be a cave! The point is, prayer should only be heard by God. What is prayer? It is NOT a wish list where you say, "God, I need a new car, a better husband," or whatever you pray and that's it. Prayer is a two way communication. It is similar to you talking to a friend on a phone. Do you call your friend just to tell her about our day and not ask about hers? Solomon wrote that a fool delights in airing his own opinion. We should hear the other side too and it should be that when we pray. Many times people would pray and  not wait to hear what God has to say. It is in that secret place where God can speak to you.
The secret place is free from distractions. When we are in that place, we should turn off distractions. When God speaks, it may not be audible enough to hear above it. We should off everything going around us so we can hear him. When Elijah was in a cave, the scripture says, that God didn't speak in an earthquake and fire, but in a still small voice (1king 19, 11,12 NKJV).
"Andrew’s muscles tightened. Julie was unusually quiet, and she hardly touched her food. He drew his eyebrows together. “You okay?” He touched her hand.
“Trying to stay in God’s presence.”
Warmth flooded his body. As long as she stayed in His presence that bozo couldn’t harm her. The man was no match for God. When he prayed that morning, he gave his anger and discontentment to God. He even surrendered Julie to Him, and peace had flooded his heart. He would help her grow in her faith. “That’s good that you are doing that. God is here, and He is stronger than your enemies.”
Her eyes widened in surprise. “Oh wow! That is the best thing you have ever said!” She smiled widely"

In that secret place, God will protect you. I often time felt his protection. Even when I go walking on a  daily basis, I know that God will keep me safe, but it's not just when I'm outside. At my desk, I sense his presence or when listening to worship music because I am in that secret place.
Have you experience his presence like that?

Note from author Ruthie Madison. I have given you examples from my story based on a review on my book.  Please do not use the excerpts for your gain. I hope my  blogs have encouraged you in your walk of faith.
